Senior Planner/Studies Specialist
Carl Walker, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Senior Planner/Studies Specialist to develop and lead the Carl Walker studies group in the northeast region of the U.S. The successful candidate will have business development and sales skills as well as broad experience in performing parking studies. This position will be located in either our Philadelphia (Cherry Hill, NJ) or our Kalamazoo, MI office and has the potential for rapid advancement to a principal level.
Position will develop and lead our planning group focused on the northeast in cooperation with the larger Carl Walker studies group. The position will function as a project manager for studies projects and requires strong writing, analytical, computer, and communications skills.
The Senior Planner position will maintain pro-active relationships with past and present clients in order to develop regional market opportunities for Carl Walker Studies and Operations Consulting as well as cross-selling for parking structure design and restoration opportunities. This position involves approximately 20%-25% travel to conduct project and business development meetings, presentation of study reports, conference attendance, interviews, etc. The position reports to the Senior Vice President for Studies and Operations Consulting.

Carl Walker, Inc. has an immediate opening for our Director of Restoration to lead the Carl Walker restoration sector in the U.S. The successful candidate will have personnel management, business development and sales skills as well as broad experience in restoration and structural engineering. This position will preferably be located in our Kalamazoo, MI office or less desirably in our suburban Chicago office and has the potential for advancement to a Vice President.
The position demands an entrepreneurial leader who will continue the development and growth of our restoration engineering services, including parking structures, plazas, facades, stadiums, and industrial buildings. The Director of Restoration will manage the restoration team to achieve sales, financial, training, quality, and technical standards goals. Position requires strong managerial, presentation, analytical, and computer skills as well as excellent interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
Bachelor’s degree in structural engineering required, Master’s degree in structural engineering or architecture preferred. MBA would be advantageous. Professional licensure (PE, SE, or RA/AIA) required.
The Director of Restoration will maintain pro-active relationships with past and present clients in order to develop restoration market opportunities for Carl Walker as well as cross-selling for New Parking Structure design and Studies and Operations Consulting opportunities. This position involves frequent travel (approximately 25%-50%) to conduct project and business development meetings, presentations, conference attendance, interviews, and for sector management, etc. The position directly supervises six to eight restoration team members and reports to the President.
